Pilgrimage

The hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, is one of the central observations of Islam. Have any of us made this journey? What has it meant in our own lives and spiritual paths?

As the fifth pillar of Islam, every capable Muslim is required to mae a hajj. I travelled last year and found that not only did it make me feel connected to my faith, but I also spent the entire trip meeting new people who shared in my faith. It was a wonderful experience and cannot wait to share the experience with my children when they grow older.

I have not made the pilgrimmage, but definitely think about doing it. I want to eventually be able to make the money and time to travel to Mecca. For now, I find that it is in my dreams and I live every day to achieve those dreams. Who knows...once I take the hajj, what will I dream of then?

but i want to one day, it is of the utmost importance that i do before i die, and leave this existence.

i want to make it

but i do not think i am spiritually ready for it. And its important for me to make it as a muslim who has had faith his whole life. But before i die i will have to make it.

but i never i will never have the money to make it there.. It's such a long way and i have a family and i need to work... but i wish i could.

I have been to Mecca. I went when I was a tennager. It was amazing.

I just can't afford it right now!

Last year

My family went to Mecca last year..it was amazing, beautiful and crowded. But I have never felt so close to Allah before.

Are there any organizations that make it affordable to make the pilgrimage? I cannot afford it on my own.
